Q: What is Pregnancy, Prenatal & Postpartum therapy?

A: Some parents experience anxiety, depression and at times rage that can be directly related to pregnancy and postpartum. Hormones can play a large role, but so can predisposition to depression, anxiety or history of other mental health concerns can exacerbate these symptoms. Talk therapy with emphasis on goals and strategic exercises/ skill use can help reduce symptoms and manage the postpartum period with better understanding and allow space for you to learn and identify what is happening for you.

Q: How long do I need to be in therapy?

A: This is based on clients individual needs and goals. It is difficult to make an assumption before meeting you and identifying your needs. Sometimes we can get through one issue and we find a new root to another. Therapy takes time and I hope that you allow yourself the time you need.

Q: How do I know if therapy with you will work for me?

A: While I cannot make guarantees, I do like to make sure we are a good fit for treatment before we get started. It is important for my clients to feel comfortable sharing intimate details of their life and I want to make sure you feel safe and supported enough to even tell me if you feel we may not be a good fit.

Q: How do we get started?

A: We get started with a short 15 minute call to discuss needs and to identify what you hope to accomplish through therapy with me. I answer any questions you may have regarding insurances accepted, costs of therapy and if you feel comfortable scheduling with me, I will send you intake forms and allow you access to my portable where you can schedule future appointments.
